This morning I had an extra five minutes so I went for one right by my work. I had to DNF this one the last time because the owner of the business came up and stared at me. This time I made the find and inked the log. This one was a nice one to grab because when you search the area near my work it is the last one nearby. I guess it is also sad as I must travel further to continue the one full year quest.
Later on a couple FTF's were posted when I was about to leave work so I went for them. The first was at a gas station. When I rolled up to ground zero a man was sitting in his car by the cache location talking on his phone. I decided to get out of my car and look anyways. He left quickly and out of her car came 1/2 Team Kirch. Together we looked and eventually 1/2 Team Kirch made the find, in a place I thought I looked.
1/2 Kirch let me know that she had posted a cache that was still unfound. I got back in the car and went for it. I expected that it was too good to be true but tried anyways. Coming in second is better than not being in the game. When I arrived at ground zero it was an abandoned fast food restaurant. I made the find and realized that I was second to discover again. Oh well, I liked seeing an abandoned restaurant getting recycled into a game piece for Geocaching. I think that was a great place for a cache. Reuse , Renew, Recycle.
