FTF and a Ghost Cache

Last night at 10:50 an new cache was posted. I didn't see it until the morning and thought someone must have found it by now. I didn't rush to get ready, but once I was I checked and still no log online.  I decided that I would try to get it on my way to work fully expecting to be third or fourth.  When I rolled up I was by myself. It was in a place that used to be a river for Sacramento that is now a cement runoff area. I looked for a very long time then notice a geotrail and walked right to it.  Then I found a squeaky clean log and signed my FTF! While there another geocacher showed and we talked for a minute. I cleaned up the geotrail and left for work, so excited for the FTF I didn't take pictures. I still arrived 20 minutes early. A few minutes ago I logged my first Virtual Cache about an interesting man named BT Collins. He lost his arm and leg in Vietnam and called himself Captain Hook.

A virtual cache is a cache that exists in a form of a location. Depending on the cache "hider," a virtual cache could be to answer a question about a location, an interesting spot, a task, etc. The reward for these caches is the location itself and sharing information about your visit. These caches are no longer geocaches and only the ones that existed before the rule continue to exist.
