Had to take another furlough day so why not on Monday. The weather was horrible so I was unable to golf, but able to Geocache. This morning traveled to West Sacramento in order to find new caches. The day started out with a 4 of 5 difficulty rated cache. After about 20 minutes I called it DNF or Did not find. This one was kinda a puzzle and my GPS was bouncing all over. It was at a less than busy gas station so I got to be observed by the attendant. He came outside twice to see if I was okay.
After that grabbed my first one up on a hill. This one was not doing so well. The contents of the cache were all down the hill and the log was lost. I quickly went to my geokit and replaced the log. Luckily the top was found right by the container. I don't think I would have replaced the container.
Next I traveled to an Indian restaurant. This one reminded me of my home town where there are a plethora of Indian restaurants.
Picked up anther in a tiny park. Again I was watched by the locals. One guy kept circling but I went for it anyway. I figure there is no way that he will put in the time looking at a tree for a microscopic cache container. If he does he can join or muggle the cache. I doubt he will.
After another DNF found a cache that was completely submerged in water. It was in a fun location, but due to the recent rain had flooded. I used the car heater to dry out the pages. I also added a Ziploc bag so the log will hopefully stay dry for the next cacher. That pic is me drying the log on the heater vent.
Had two more DNFs which took about an hour. At one of them the UPS truck decided to give me cover to look freely for the cache, even thought I came up short.
The last cache was found as the rain began to come down hard. It was a sprinkler head cache, I enjoy these but I find them too quickly. Had to take a picture from the car as the rain was getting colder. I had hopes for my 200th find to day but had to settle for 194 this morning.
