Geo Woodstock VIII

The day of Geo Woodstock, the big geocaching festival thing, we woke up and grabbed a cache near our hotel before heading to Carnation. It was a simple cache at a bus stop and due to the high number of geocachers in the area it must have been found 100 times that day.  While we were at the find four groups of cachers came through.  We made quick work of it and got on the road.

While on the road we found some coffee.
While in route we saw much of the country roads in Washington.
We also stopped when we saw cachers from Sacramento searching for a cache.
This one was about the Oreo cows in the distance.

When we stopped there were only two cars that changed quickly.
When you saw cars stopped caches were getting found.  Notice the people on the train tracks.
We got back on the road and went to the event.
We were happy to get there and try out the new iphone's front facing camera.

It was a really large event with over 5000 geocachers in attendance.
We met some fun folks from Alaska.
There was a bunch of cool overly large items, like a massive Ammo Container.
There were people from all over.
They auctioned off the surfboard from the day before.
This was the eighth event and I would guest that those arrows are heading the correct direction and the distances are correct. It is a GPS enabled sport.
The event is just like a cache and had a log to sign.
We were going to leave at lunch because we had run out of money and could not buy any food, but we were saved by our friends DJDS Clan. They had picked up packets for people that did not attend and they gave us their lunch tickets. Thank goodness cause we were starving. Pictured is D of DJDS and a new friend from Pennsylvania. In the background you can see me talking to the gentlemen that I met exciting the plane.
It turns out that he has more finds than any other geocacher. He finds about 18 a day. I don't think that I will be aspiring to that level of determination.
Upon leaving we noticed the welcome sign.
Then we ran into an old Hippie and a Granny. They are also from Sacramento.
Yes we got in the hippie sign and that was all for Geo Woodstock. That night we drove to Seattle and crashed.
